Day 1 – Friday
Arrival at Montepulciano and visit to the Gothic-Renaissance town. Route through the underground city and lunch at local restaurant with traditional Poliziana cuisine.
In the afternoon tour to the vineyards with the possibility to take part in the wine harvest (if the season allows it), return to the historical wine cellars with guided tour and tasting / dinner of typical Tuscan products (Selection of homemade sheep cheeses of different maturation, salami, Bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil, Crostini and typical Tuscan Pici Ragu of Housewife, Cantucci and Vin Santo)
Day 2 – Saturday
Tour to the Orcia Valley: Pienza and its Pecorini (sheep cheeses). Tour to a cheese diary. Afternoon visit to Bagno Vignoni: Medieval Spa village where all the houses and the church of St. John the Baptist were built around the basin in which the water from the original thermal spring gushes out of the volcanic soil. This conformation gives the bath the same position and function that normally belongs to the main square of a town.
Opportunity to use the spa for a relaxing short break in the afternoon. Dinner on the Piazza with typical dishes.
Day 3 – Sunday
Tour to the Chianti Classico.Visit to the Fattoria Felsina, in the heart of Tuscany, land of the Etruscans, its founders, that introduced to it the grape-wine and the olive, land of the Romans, who found refuge and companionship in its post station, land of the pilgrims on their pilgrimage along the Via Francigena. Being a stop-over point or ultimate destination, today as it was then, Felsina offers its guests quietude and regalement. Tasting of extra-virgin olive oils, visit to the oil mill and the historical wine cellars where pure Sangiovese wines are produced.
Lunch and Return.
